FAQ

How does "Pledging Change" work?

The app automatically rounds up your everyday credit or debit card purchases to the nearest dollar and donates the resulting change to our organization. Simply set up your account and we'll take care of the rest!

What are "Round-Ups"?

A "round-up" is the term we use to describe the spare change captured from rounding up your transactions to the next dollar. For instance, if you bought a coffee for $2.43 on your connected credit/debit card, we would add 57 cents to your Round Up's page.

Does my change get donated immediately after every purchase?

Not exactly. To avoid high credit/debit processing fees, the change from your transactions is accumulated until you reach a minimum threshold of $10. Once this $10 threshold is met, Harness will automatically donate the $10 to our organization. This process will then start over and your change will begin to accumulate towards the next $10 transaction.

When will my Round-Ups be reflected on my Round-Ups page?

We receive updates from institutions approximately 4-6 times a day. Anytime a new transaction has been posted to your bank account, we will add the change to your Round-Up's page. Depending on your banking institution, multiple transactions may be posted to your bank account all at once. If this happens, we will take the sum of the change from each transaction and post it to your Round-Up's page.

Why do we need your bank login information?

We need your banking information in order to receive your transaction data from the bank. Once your transaction data is received, our servers automatically determine your rounded up change and update your profile accordingly. As soon as you provide your login credentials, we send the information directly to the bank using 256-bit (bank level) SSL encryption. Your login credentials are never saved to your phone or our servers.
